Cheri Peters

Cheri Peters growing up years was not very pretty, borne to 14-16 year old addicts Cheri was abused and unwanted, ending up on the streets by age 13. She spent the next 10 years on the streets of LA, raised by addicts. Drugs, alcohol, and abuse were her life. At the age of 23 she was burned out, drug addicted, suicidal, and desperately looking for a way out. She found that way out in an incredible encounter with God which lead to meeting  a woman who  stepped into her life, introduced her to the Bible, begin mentoring her and encouraging Cheri to fight for her recovery. At that time Cheri was fairly illiterate, stung out on heroin, and without healthy life skills.

Cheri has sense gotten off drugs, learned to read, received a degree in nursing, authored two books, host a world wide television, and radio show, and developed a faith based organization to help at risk folks learn how to “fight for their recovery”. The organization is called TrueStep Ministries , inc. and is reaching out to at risk folks both nationally and internationally since 1996.

Cheri lives in Kuna Idaho with her Husband Brad…Principal Trumpet of the Philharmonic, Director of the Gene Harris Jazz Festival, and Adjunct Professor at Boise State University, and her daughter Jaci an incredible writer, musician and child…. Also 2 dogs, 9 cats, 5 horses … well you get the picture..
